The final edition of the SCC Newsletter for the year 2017 introduces Ms. Martina Galler who has been appointed as the new Head of our Biocides business unit. The Newsletter deals also with a draft guidance document for identifying endocrine disruptors under EU legislation for pesticides and biocides. Furthermore, this edition of the SCC Newsletter comprises relevant articles about the regulation of agrochemicals / biopesticides and important news concerning chemicals/REACH and on topics in ecotoxicology.

This edition of the Newsletter introduces Mr. Thomas Roth who has been appointed as the new Head of our Chemicals business unit. We are also very pleased to present a guest contribution about the European Union Minor Uses Coordination Facility written by Mr. Jeroen Meeussen (co-ordinator). Important progress has also been made regarding the future evaluation of plant protection products (PPP). EU Member States voted in favour of the recent proposal regarding criteria for identifying endocrine disruptors (ED) among PPPs. This issue also features a report on the latest BVL Applicants Conference in Braunschweig as well as other important news about agrochemicals/biostimulants, chemicals/REACH and regulatory science.
Some information on the recent European developments in politics (Brexit) is also given.

This edition of the Newsletter refers to the recent European developments in politics (“Brexit”) and includes a report on the conference “Crops and Chemicals Europe 2017”. You may also refer directly to a comprehensive overview on low risk substances and the latest developments in efficacy assessment in agriculture presented during this event. Concerning the last REACH deadline 2018, the last call to pre-register your low volume chemicals ends on 31 May 2017.
