So-called notified bodies (NB) are part of the upcoming registration/notification process for EU fertilising products. A notified body is a conformity assessment body that has a notification from the national competent notification authority and is listed in the NANDO (New Approach Notified and Designated Organizations) database operated by the EU Commission.
The BLE (Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food) has been named as the notifying authority for Germany. BLE will take over the establishment and implementation of the necessary procedures for the assessment and notification of conformity assessment bodies as well as for the monitoring of the notified bodies. There is close coordination with the German accreditation body DAkkS (German National Accreditation Body).
If conformity assessment bodies successfully pass the procedure according to Chapter IV of The Regulation, the BLE grants the authority to act within the framework of the EU Fertiliser Product Regulation. It then announces this authorization in the NANDO database provided by the EU Commission (notification procedure in accordance with Article 28).
- Nando (New Approach Notified and Designated Organisations) Information System
The conformity assessment bodies are listed on the European database Nando. So far there are no entries for Regulation (EU) 2019/1009 on EU fertilising products.
The list is subject to regular updates and includes the identification number of each notified body as well as the tasks for which it has been notified.
Notification of notified bodies and their withdrawal are the responsibility of the notifying Member State.
